What The Ground's Like

Infamously known for its slope, Batley is one of the oldest grounds in Rugby League. And it shows as well with half the ground looking very old and dated. At the top of the slope, there is a covered terrace which houses the tunnel and a row of executive boxes. On top of the roof, there are a row of solar panels and in the car park there is a wind turbine. However, go to the bottom of the slope and it is a whole new story. There is an uncovered terrace which is also known as 'The Craig Lingard Terrace' in honour of Batley's record try scorer. Then there is 'The Glen Tomlinson Stand' which is seated runs down 1/3 of the pitch, with open terracing either side of it. The stand houses the dug-outs and behind it is a bar, picnic area and kiosk. Opposite there is 'The Kirkwood Hospice Community Stand' which is seated and runs half the length of the pitch. The other half is terracing, but this is closed off due to safety reasons.

Away Fans

Batley is unsegregated meaning away fans can congregate where they like. A lot of Batley fans will swap ends at half time to the end their team is scoring (weather depending).

Where To Eat & Drink

Apart from the bar at the ground, there is a J D Wetherspoon's off Wellington Street.

Your nearest station is Batley which is served by trains from Leeds. To get there, come out of the station and turn left onto Spurr Street. At the end of the road, turn right onto Rouse Mill Lane and proceed down it until you reach the end of the road  where the Oaklands Free House should be directly ahead of you. Turn left and continue along Bradford Road. Turn left when you reach the Ford Accident  & Repair Centre onto Taylor Street.
